Quests (E-H)

Quests are listed in alphabetical order and have been organized into subgroups to make locating them faster and easier. For each quest, I have provided a walk-through, information on the location to start the quest, and a summary of the money/items/Quest Points you will receive as a reward upon completion. Additionally, I have included a list of Items Required for each quest. This is especially helpful if you like to have your supplies on hand ahead of time, and it should prevent a lot of running back and forth. These lists do not, however, make mention of "quest-only" items such as those provided to you by NPCs during the course of the quest, as you do not have to worry about gathering these beforehand.

Please note that this section of the website DOES NOT include mini-game quests (Ant Hills, Sandcastle Moats, Paintings, etc.). These can be found instead under the Mini-Games heading on the navigation menu.

Gillian's Lost First Aid Kit

  • Location: Ring Isle
  • Items Required: none
  • Reward: 75 Quest Points,   $15,000

To start this quest, pay a visit to Gillian's house and make the unfortunate mistake of stepping all over her nails. Gillian will offer to patch up your injured foot, but will not be able to find her first aid kit. Her sister, Jane will tip you both off that the family dog, Rivvie must have run off with it. Despite that hole in your foot, you must be the one to track down Rivvie, who can be found on the shoreline south of Gillian's house. She wanders a bit, but shouldn't be too hard to find.

The dog will hint to you that she's buried the first aid kit by a stick of some sort, so follow the shoreline southeast until you arrive at a piece of driftwood as shown to the left. Use your shovel to recover the missing first aid kit, and then return it to Gillian to complete the quest. Still nothing done about that impaled foot of yours...

After speaking with Gofer, you will learn that his bicycle has been disassembled by some rambunctious monkeys, and he's had to order some new parts to fix it. He will ask you to pick up new wheels from Rick Hammerstroke and a new bike chain from Ferrel Ironman, and will give you 10 Pearls to help pay your passage.

Rick is the farrier in Witherton, while Ferrel runs the blacksmith shop in Wington. Retrieve the new parts from both of them, and then return to Gofer to finish up the quest.

Grey Slate's Gaudy Crown

  • Reward: 350 Quest Points,   $250,000

Begin this quest by speaking to Grey Slate, the owner of the Carrotton Rock Shop, who is busy trying to construct a rather tasteless crown for King Phil the First of Hotzeplotz Isle. King Phil has some very specific requests, and Grey is having trouble tracking down the materials he'll need to complete the crown. Offer to give him a hand if he agrees to split King Phil's payment with you.

Grey will first ask you to bring him 10 pieces of Gold Ore and 20 pieces of Silver Ore, and will give you $100 to help cover your travel costs. Once you hand over the ore, he will next ask for 5 Diamonds and 24 Small Gems, and then for 10 Peacock Feathers. At this point, Grey will give you another $600 and will send you to retrieve the final resource he needs for the crown - a piece of Royal Blue Cloth.

To obtain the Royal Blue Cloth, you will need to speak to Kilye, a resident of Tropicton Village on Jungle Isle. Kilye will require 15 Blueberries and a Cloth (which you can craft using 10 Pieces of Cotton at the Shellton Sewing Workshop on Turtle Isle). Pay Kilye $200 and hand over the ingredients she needs, then return the Royal Blue Cloth to Grey Slate.

With the crown fully assembled, Grey will send you to Hotzeplotz Isle to deliver it to King Phil. King Phil will hand over an envelope containing payment and will send you back to Carrotton with his compliments. Deliver the envelope to Grey, who will split the payment with you as promised.

This quest begins with Hedda, wife of the Appleton Inn owner. She will tell you at great length about a very strange man who visited her inn the night before, and whom Hedda believes must have been crazy. She will recount to you his strange ramblings about his impossible adventures throughout the isles, and will finish by saying that the unusual stranger had vanished by morning. Unfortunately, the traveler left behind a tiny, carved box, which Hedda would like to return to him. She has no knowledge of the man's identity or whereabouts, so offer up your sleuthing services and volunteer to track him down. Hedda will give you 10 Bananas that the stranger left behind and will send you on your way.

You will need to follow the clues in Hedda's story in order to retrace the mysterious stranger's journey. Speak to the following NPCs in order:

1. Fergus O'Toole on Flower Isle. Fergus will tell you that the rider passed through and was talking about dinosaur bones and garden gnomes. He will also give you 9 Ferrets that the stranger left behind.

2. Felton in Flipperton on Dolphin Isle. Felton heard the stranger say that he fell by a dead tree and was transported to Dolphin Isle, and that he remembered the scent of sandalwood and green tea. Felton will give you 5 Dinosaur Bones.

3. Mona in Inkton on Art Isle. Mona tells you that the stranger arrived to her house with chickens and a blue bird feather on his vest. She will give you 7 Chickens that the man left behind.

10. Hazel in Earton on Horse Isle. Hazel spoke to the strange man as he passed through town, but did not learn where he had come from. She will suggest that you ask Felicity if she knows anything more.

12. Griffin in Earton on Horse Isle. Griffin remembers that the stranger was sunburnt and mentioned a rambling poet. He will also give you 4 Rats.

13. Demetrius in Witherton on Rider Isle. Demetrius recalls that the rider came from some place cold.

14. Maj. Manesale, the harbor master on Polar Isle. Manesale suspects that the man came to Polar Isle on a boat from the south.

15. Marina Mooring, the harbor mistress on Whorl Isle. Marina says the stranger arrived on a boat from the isle directly to the south.

Unfortunately, the man never returned, so Frannie will ask for your help instead. She will give you a banana and will request that you try to capture the lost monkey. Travel directly east from Frannie's cabin until you see the cluster of palm trees on the sand as shown in the image to the right. Here, you will find Toodles the monkey. Give him the banana, and then transport him back to Frannie. She will now tell you that she remembers the strange man talking about someone named "Crazy Freddy."

19. Crazy Eddie on Crazy Eddie's Isle. Eddie will only tell you what he remembers about the strange man if you give him a Strawberry, so hand one over to learn that the man mentioned Hudson. Eddie will also give you 12 Starfish.

Josten will recount his own version of his adventure to you, and will assure you that he will return to Appleton Inn to retrieve the carved box he left behind. Hunt for the Emerald Necklace

*You must first complete the quest, Mr. Fin's Quest*
  • Location: Sandy Meadows (Desert Isle)
  • Items Required: none
  • Reward: 300 Quest Points,   $75,000

Begin the quest by speaking to Loyada in Sandy Meadows on Desert Isle, who will tell you about an emerald necklace that was given to her by her dear, departed husband. Unfortunately, Loyada lost the necklace in a terrible sandstorm years ago and has never been able to find it, so offer to try to recover it for her. Loyada will recommend that you speak to Nolan on Dolphin Isle to see if he has a book with a record of the storm.

Travel to Flipperton and explain your hunt to Nolan, who will wisely suggest that what you really need is a treasure map. He will hint that you should search the abandoned shack on Hoof Isle to find one. Head to the large sandy beach on the eastern shore of Hoof Isle and enter the Crumbling Cabin. Using your Magnifying Glass, you will find a treasure map with a small 'x' marking a spot on Bird Isle, as well as a note reading, "inn."

Go to Wington and dig behind the Inn as shown in the image below on the left. You will find your next clue, which is pointing you to Dolphin Isle this time. Use your Shovel once again to dig up the third clue in front of the fountain in Flipperton, as shown below on the right.

From here, head to the Gazebo in Shellton on Turtle Isle. Make sure that you're standing INSIDE the gazebo, and then use your Magnifying Glass to find a clue directing you to an orchard on Desert Isle. Locate the large group of orange trees directly below Hotton and stand in the spot indicated in the bottom left image. Dig up your final clue, which points to Snow Isle. You will find the necklace buried beneath the fallen log just outside Abigail's cabin in Chillton, as shown on the bottom right.

Finally, you can return the lost necklace to Loyada in order to complete the quest.
